The graph shows the excess mortality of the quartile with most deprivation of all small areas in a city relative to the quartile with least deprivation of all small areas, complemented by the 95% credibility interval. For example, among men in Helsinki, more deprived areas have higher mortality from avoidable causes than less deprived areas (RR: 1.28; 95% CI: 1.07-1.54).
